Keyless Entry System
The key fob is equipped with an internal chip that enables it to communicate with the receiver module inside your vehicle. If the key fob suddenly stops working the internal chip has been damaged. Transponder Chip Key
The transponder key is an auto security device that transmits a unique number when it's placed in the ignition. The immobilizer blocks the vehicle's starter motor, fuel pump and any other device that would allow it to function not for the chip's unique identification code.
The key is usually composed of only metal with a head made of plastic that houses the transponder. To remove the key from the ignition, it's best to make use of pliers or a screwdriver to gain enough leverage to unlock the lock. The user can then remove the chip, which looks like a small transparent tube or black square. The chip is then placed on the tape and fixed to the ignition lock close to the barrel of ignition.
